Playbackups

Playbackups is a phrase being used more and more in the English language and relates directly to the technical ability of a video console or computer to run backup copies of orignal production discs.
The advent of the computer games console has introduced many new words and phrases and an entire industry has developed in the production of computer video game modchips and accessories that will allow you to playbackups of your original games.
The purpose of being able to run such material is simple, running a backup copy of a computer game will protect your original copy from damage, such as scratches, finger marks, and general wear and tear. Of course there is always an element who will use this capability to play pirate copies of electronic video games.

Eeprom flashing is another method, used on the PSP and Microsoft Xbox360 to playbackups. This involves flashing the DVD drive or firmware on a console, to allow console users to playbackups.
