Plastic Hall of Fame

Plastic Hall of Fame is a life time achievement award that is given to members of the Plastic or Petrochemical community Internationnaly. Plastic Hall of Fame was officially launched in 2004. There are currently 4 Hall of Famers. One candidate is inducted at an annual gala that takes place in August of each year at different locations worldwide. The Hall of Fame was founded by Safir Ahmad Babar as a way to recognize the exceptional individuals of the international plastic community.

Chief Executive Committee Members
The President of the executive committee is Munir Ahmad Babar. The President is elected annually the night before the Annual International Plastic Hall of Fame Gala, but the President assumes the responsibilities of the title after the Gala. The presedent elected assumes the responsibility of the title for the term of the following year. A Vice Presedint along with Tresurer, Secretary of Marketing and Speaker of The Council are appointed by the President. The Chief Elections Officer, along with other executive officer are elected by the executive committee.

Hall of Fame Council
The Hall of Fame Council consists of 50 members in the International plastic Industry. These members are given the task to elect the next inductee to the Hall of Fame. These members are appointed by the Board of Directors of The Hall of Fame. They are appointed based on there work experience and reputation in the field of Plastic and Petrochemical. The council is currently represented in the following countries:
* India
* Pakistan
* Bangladesh
* China
* Saudi Arabia
* United Arab Emirates
* Taiwan
* Malaysia
* Hong Kong
* Canada
* United States
* United Kingdom

The International Plastic Hall of Fame Charter
The Official International Plastic Hall of Fame Charter was written and signed by the executive committee members on December 2007 In Toronto Canada as a guideline for all future Hall of Fame activity. According to the charter the executive committee has the ability to change the charter if necessary.

The Head Quarters
The temporary International Plastic Hall of Fame Head Quarters is split between two locations one in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. and the other in Lahore, Punajb, Pakistan. The foundation stone of a permanent Hall of Fame Headquarters has been set in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.

Hall of Famers
The Hall of Famers for the year 2006 and 2007 are now serving as the chief executive committee members on the board of directors.

* 2006 Hall of Famer: Munir Ahmad Babar
* 2007 Hall of Famer: Mohammad Ashraf Bilal

Candidates
The Candidates for the Hall of Fame are announced in March. The candidates are nominated via phone calls, mails, emails and other online methods. Names are accepted from all over Asia. The person presenting the name is asked to present a report on the candidate outlining there achievements in the field. A Candidate is officially declared a candidate once he has been approved by the board. On an average eight nominees are approved for candidacy annually.

Choosing A Hall of Famer
Choosing a Hall of Famer is based on the elections held by the board. The Hall of Fame Council is given the task of choosing the next Hall of Famer. The Council consists of 50 members in the International Plastic Industry. In a rear chance of tie in the votes, 7 honorary members are added to the council to break the tie. The executive committee members are not allowed to vote. One executive committee member is appointed by the board to conduct the annual elections.

Stripping the Title
If the Board sees fit, they have the authority to strip the title of any Hall of Famer at any time. The decision is based on any negative publicity presented to the board by any board or council member. In some cases the board are requested to call upon the council to vote on the member’s ability to carry on as a Plastic Hall of Famer. A tie situation in this case solved by the board, the board adds 7 honorary members to the council to break the tie.

There are several other titles awarded every year to deserving individuals in the plastic industry. They are awarded at The International Hall of Fame Gala that takes place annually. These title include:

* The Plastic Blow Moulding Manufacturer of the Year

* The Plastic Raw Material Indenter of the Year
* The Plastic Trader of the Year
* The Plastic Person of the Year
