Pinoy Henyo is a Filipino answer site where people can ask any questions and the community answers.
History
It started as strike team project of 5 Yehey! employees. Namely: Mike Valle, Raymund Deang, Jonas de los Reyes, Aileen de Sesto, and Peri Paolo Maligaya who thought of a website that could help young students to coup with their research and home works. They incorporated some platforms of other answer sites and made it localized to filipino community because their perception is:
"who can relate and understand more to a question (english or pinoy) than our fellow Filipinos themselves since they lived and influenced by the same community"' ~Jonas De los Reyes E-commerce Manager of yehey.com.
The idea was conceptualized at mid year 2007 and started as an assignment.com thing but then they though it might be a good catch if they use "pinoy henyo" as the name to be more localized. "Pinoy Henyo" is a famous Local game that became widely recognized because of the TV game show segment of "Pinoy Henyo" in Eat-Bulaga GMA7.
The site did a BETA launch on Aug 23, 2007 with no effort in promotion. The site gained more popularity during the end of 2007 averaging from 13,000 - 15,000 new visits and 30,000 to 50,000 pageviews majority coming from search engines and others from referring sites who syndicated their contents.
