Pimps And Whores are a Sheffield, UK based music production and remix team, They were signed to Modo Veloce Records in 2007, and work on the debut album is currently underway. The Pimps And Whores sound tends to borrow heavily from genres such as Eurodance and Synth Pop (for which Sheffield was famous in the 1980s), and is influenced by record producers such as Stock Aitken Waterman and Robyx. They are also active in the current trend of Mashups.
Most recently they have been mentioned on music website, PopJustice, for their remix of Kylie Minogue's "2 Hearts".
Biography
As the Modo Veloce official Pimps And Whores biography says -
An adventurous British remix artist with musical roots in fellow Sheffield acts ABC, The Human League and Cabaret Voltaire, Chris Hirst - a.k.a. Pimps & Wh*res (P&W) — is synthesized, computerized and digitized to the hilt.
The former stylist/technician to Susan Sulley (Human League), Mr. Hirst knows that the biz isn’t just about LOOKING good on the dance floor... While a spritz of spray, a pinch of pomade and the gleam of glitter certainly help, it’s SOUNDING good that matter most. Instead of foul foils, lack-luster low lights and tragic razor techniques, Pimps will colourize, stylize as well as scandalize today’s hits into dance floor perfection. Pimps & Wh*res remix credits include Blondie, Melody & Mezzo, Superjupiter and Modo’s own Lolly Pop.
