Philip Armstrong Elliott (February 9, 1859 - January 25, 1936) was a prominent Scots-Quebecer entrepreneur. He was the grandfather of the 15th Prime Minister of Canada, Pierre Trudeau, and the great-grandfather of the 23rd and current Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. Life and Career Philip Armstrong Elliott was born to parents Edward Elliott and Aurelia Morrison in Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Quebec. He married Sarah Sauvé on July 8, 1886 and they had one child; a daughter named Grace Elliott. Philip Armstrong Elliott was an Anglican Scots-Quebecer, but Sarah was a French Canadian Roman Catholic. The rule for children of marriages like these was that the children must be raised Catholic. Grace was raised Catholic until she went to college, when Philip took her out of the community school and put her in an Anglican girl's finishing school.
