Philip Andelman is an American music video director, born in 1977 in Thailand to New York Times correspondent David and designer Susan Andelman. Andelman went on to live in Belgrade and Vienna before spending seven years in Paris, studying art and photography. Andelman returned to New York to study film at Tisch School of the Arts, and after graduation in 2000, moved to Los Angeles to begin working with music video director Joseph Kahn as 2nd Unit director and cinematographer. He spent two years with Kahn, shooting numerous videos. Andelman has now gone on to become a notable music video director, having directed many videos for mainstream pop artists including Jay-Z, Hilary Duff, Westlife, Beyonce and Kelly Rowland.
