Philatelic Society of Pittsburgh

The Philatelic Society of Pittsburgh, also known as the Pittsburgh Stamp Club, is a philatelic organization established to serve stamp collectors in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, area.
History
The society was formed in 1888 and became Chapter No. 2 of the American Philatelic Society (APS), one of the APS's earliest chapters.<ref name="virtualstampclub.com"/>
Location
The Philatelic Society of Pittsburgh meets at First Lutheran Church, 615 Grant Street, in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (Located across the street from the U.S. Steel building.) Schedule during the meetings include: club business, speakers, APS slide shows, stamp auctions, philatelic trading and gossip.<ref name="virtualstampclub.com"/>
PITTPEX
The organization holds its philatelic exhibition, called Pittpex, annually. PITTPEX is held the first weekend of November in South Fayette Township at Bridgeville, Pennsylvania.<ref name="virtualstampclub.com"/>
