Peter J. Levesque

Peter J. Levesque is an American international business executive, author, and CEO of CMA CGM and American President Lines North America. CMA CGM operates over 600 container ships and 60 ports with more than 150,000 employees worldwide.
Levesque was previously the head of the Ports of America Group. He also led the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong for two terms. He currently serves as a board director on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C.
Education and career
Levesque earned his BA in political science from the University of Massachusetts. Subsequently, he obtained his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His experience includes serving as an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship in both, the Kellogg/HKUST MBA program and the graduate business school MBA school at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
In 2010, Levesque joined Modern Terminals as Chief Commercial Officer. He became Chief Operating Officer in 2015 before taking on the role of Group Managing Director and CEO in 2016.
After returning to the U.S., in February 2020, Levesque was appointed as the new president of the Ports America Group, the largest port operator in the United States based in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Levesque previously held the position of Senior Vice President at CEVA Logistics Supply Chain Group in Hong Kong before joining Modern Terminals. He also served as the Asia Pacific Regional Vice President for DHL's International Supply Chain Group. He co-founded V-Logic Limited, a specialised third-party logistics company based in Hong Kong, which was acquired in 2006. Levesque also held various senior executive roles at American President Lines, including the position of managing director of APL Logistics for North Asia.
