Pearce rose through the ranks of the politically unknown, to a position of actual recognition and mutual respect. However, not all is positive as his position and political commentary has also seen him be the subject of severe criticism by those opposed to him and the subject of regular death threats, from what many describe as social network trolls. Despite this reality, he has continued to work with his colleagues at PNM Abroad. He has his own political perspective and analysis, which you can either agree or disagree with. Early life Robinson was born in St.Joseph, Trinidad. He grew up in a very conservative Middle Class environment to hard-working parents and both his mother and father's side of the family were versed in Christian Faith and Music, they underscored the nature and importance of Ethics, Values and the bond of Family Life. His father was involved in the Advertising Industry with a company called CorbinJWT. In 1997 his father featured him in an Advertisement for Royal Castle, the Trinidadian Food Chain, where he wore a Crown. The Royal Castle advert was shown for many months on national TV. Later in his life at the age of 7years old, he would leave Trinidad with his family and move to Brazil due to his fathers Job. Here he would have to adapt to the new cultural environment and learn to speak Portuguese. In Brazil he attented Colegio Farroupilha and Colegio Kangaroo and played sport as a defender for the Young Corinthians Football Team. Political life On August 21, 2011, a State of Emergency was declared pursuant to section 8:1 of the Constitution in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, lasting in total for a period of 5-months, ending on December 5, 2011. This declaration was by order of the executive and proclaimed by the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, in an alleged response to an imminent threat to National Security. As a result, this meant heightened security nationwide and a curfew which was instituted from 9pm-5am and later revised to 11pm—5am. Many citizens found themselves being arrested and detained without any evidence, as the state clamped down on free movement. This reality is what prompted Mr. Robinson to take it a step further and alert the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office to the goings on in Trinidad and Tobago. Pearce Robinson, President of PNM Abroad contacted the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, in a letter addressed to Foreign Minister William Hague in late September 2011. This letter sought to highlight the perceived threat to the Human Rights of citizens in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, by the Kamla Persad-Bissessar lead Peoples Partnership Coalition Government in their State of Emergency. Hague responds to Mr. Robinson Mr. Hague's office responded with the following statement: “Our High Commission in Trinidad & Tobago has been observing the evolving (SOE) situation very closely.” Our reporting has shown that constitutionally, the State of Emergency was correctly enacted, but we are monitoring events carefully for any serious deterioration of human rights, and remain in close contact with our local network of human rights defenders.”' UK Foreign Office Statement Trinidad and Tobago nationals gave Political leader of the People’s National Movement ( PNM), Dr. Keith Rowley, a warm welcome at the Carnival Village in London, England. Dr. Rowley began his three day visit to London when he attended the opening of the London Calypso Tent on Friday July 29th.
