Paul von Loeper (born 20 August 1989 in Hanover) is a German politician (Volt). Together with Friederike Schier, he has been party leader of Volt Germany since September 2019. von Loeper ran for the Bundestag election on 26 September 2021 at list position 2 of the Berlin state association and as a direct candidate for constituency 76 - Berlin-Pankow. He is particularly committed to cross-border European politics.In addition, he repeatedly deals with education policy in the election campaign and advocates for individual learning and administrative reform. Prior to his political career, Paul von Loeper worked during and after his studies as a project assistant at the German Africa Foundation, as a public affairs assistant at the Africa Association of German Business and during an internship at the Federal Foreign Office in the Department for International Economic, Trade and Financial Policy. Paul von Loeper is single without children; he lives and works in Berlin. Political work In 2017, Paul von Loeper joined Volt Europa, a political movement founded by Damian Boeselager together with Andrea Venzon and Colombe Cahen-Salvador as "pan-European", "pragmatic" and "progressive". In doing so, he wanted to make a contribution against hatred and fear, which he was intensely confronted with during his Master's programme, and for a positive future. At the setting-up party conference of the political party Volt Germany in March 2018, he was initially elected as treasurer and as a member of the first federal executive committee of Volt Germany. In April 2018, he became acting general secretary together with Friederike Schier. During the European election campaign, von Loeper primarily pursued campaigning and community organising as part of this voluntary position. In the 2019 European elections, the Volt Deutschland party won a seat in the European Parliament with Damian Boeselager. Since September 2019, Paul von Loeper has co-chaired the Volt Germany party with Friederike Schier. For the 2021 Bundestag election, Paul von Loeper was nominated by the Volt Berlin regional association as a direct candidate in Berlin-Pankow He received 1290 first votes (0.7%) in his constituency.
