Paul Christoforo is a sole trader representing Ocean Distribution and Ocean Marketing. In 2011, Christoforo was the center in a customer service situation gone awry over N-Control's Avenger Controller modification for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Christoforo and a customer engaged in email conversations, resulting in threats and insults from Christoforo on behalf of N-Control. The conversation was posted on Penny Arcade, and quickly grew a mob-like response against the controller and Christoforo. Internet Takeover The backlash of the customer service incident resulted in Christoforo becoming an instant internet celebrity, and quickly being parodied as a meme with even major companies such as Geico referring to the meme in tweets. A big portion of this is due to Christoforo challenging the customer and doubting the powers of the Internet. The resulting outburst forced Christoforo to be fired from working with N-Control and created a negative feedback for the Avenger controller. Controversy The resulting situation left many questions between the relationship of Christoforo and Avenger Controller inventor David Kotkin. Internet sleuths turned up a registered company in the names of both Christoforo and Kotkin, drawing even further criticism of the Avenger Controller and their poor customer service tactics. Despite a direct link drawn between Christoforo and Kotkin, Kotkin played down their partnership and continues to turn Christoforo into a social pariah. An apology was later issued by Christoforo, but it wasn't well received by fans, business parties, or investors . Ocean Marketing has since been cited for plagiarizing articles on their blog, and delivering vague and unsubtantiated data to customers.
