Park Bench Poet

Park Bench Poet is a contemporary folk-music project, featuring Matthew Loveridge, Andrew Bond and Christopher Bond. The moniker refers to Matthew's teenage years spent writing poetry in his local park.
Loveridge met the Bond brothers while studying at Cambridge School of Art (during 2001-2004). He began writing poetry for the project in 2001. The live band wasn't conceived until all three members had graduated (2005).
In January 2007, an acoustic E.P (unreleased) was recorded at the Bond residence in Devon. By May 2007, these recordings had been discovered by Jo Whiley and subsequently played on BBC Radio 1 by: Zane Lowe, Rob da Bank, Steve LeMacq and Huw Stephens.
Following their coverage on BBC Radio 1, Park Bench Poet began performing at venues across London for poetry collective, OneTaste. They have also performed at various British music-festivals, including: Glastonbury, Green Man and The Secret Garden Party.
In December 2009, Park Bench Poet were the support act for Ben Howard on his UK tour.
Recording sessions for their debut album are anticipated to start in 2012.
