Paraskevas Karasoulos (born August 15 1962 in Ymittos, Athens) is a Greek poet and lyricist. He started his work on the Greek music scene in 1987 with the "Magical Key" record, with music of Stefanos Korkolis and Maria Dimitriadi as the lead singer. Since then, he has been engaged in the Greek artistic scene not only as a lyrisist but also as a publisher and an activist in the cultural events of his country. Early years Many of his lyrics and poems are favourite and well-loved Greek songs, sung by a number of leading as well as new notable singers, to mention but a few: Dimitra Galani, Maria Dimitriadi, George Dalaras, and Mario Frangoulis. The lyricism and poetically intensive atmosphere of his writings are the main attribute of his works. He has founded Mikri Arktos - a publishing house and record label - as means to take further the art-song in Greece, and, the first online cultural magazine in Greece, Hridanos. Mikri Arktos A small independent publishing house and record label Mikri Arktos, it has established a reputation on the quality of the work produced both on the innovative titles of Greek contemporary music and artists' books and on the carefully designed and packaged end product. Hridanos It aims at suggesting, having opinions on, commenting and analysing the cultural developments in Greece. It encompasses all artistic and cultural aspects of today and endeavours to be a fighting journalistic vehicle on the internet. Other Events He is the art director of the celebrated Ymittos Festival, a yearly event which takes place in the stupendous Vironas Rock Theatre and aims at gathering under its umbrella well known artists from around the world. He has carried out 2 major national auditions for new talent in the Greek music scene. The auditions encompass lyrisists, singers and composers and the finest of the finalists have recorded a respective CD Proti Akroasi, Defteri Akroasi under his own label, Mikri Arktos.
