Oriol Rey Erenas (born 25 February 1998) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Real Valladolid B as a or defensive midfielder. He came through the academies formerly at Leeds United and Barcelona. Club career Early career Born in Barcelona, Catalonia, Rey started his career at FC Barcelona youth academy, graduating through the youth ranks until he was released by the club in the summer of 2017, and he joined English Premier League side West Ham on trial in July 2017, however failed to earn a move. Leeds United On 5 August 2017, he joined Leeds United from Barcelona, initially linking up with the Leeds Under 23's squad. On 7 January 2018, Rey was called up to Leeds' first team when he was named as a substitute in Leeds' 2-1 shock defeat to Newport County in the FA Cup. On 8 May, he was named in Leeds' first team squad by Head Coach Paul Heckingbottom for their post season friendlies tour to Myanmar. On 13 May 2018, he signed a new 2 year contract at the club after impressing for the Under 23 side. Rey was involved in new manager Marcelo Bielsa's first team squads during the 2018-19 pre season. On 22 August 2018, he was named in an EFL Championship squad for the first time, against Swansea City in a 2-2 draw, when he was named on the bench, replacing Liam Cooper in the squad. Conquense (loan) On 28 August, Rey joined Spanish Segunda División B side UB Conquense on a season long loan. He made his competitive debut for UB Conquense on 5 September 2018 in the Copa del Rey first round match against CD Castellón. Rey played 34 times and scored one goal and, despite his team suffered relegation at the end of the season, he was praised for his performances throughout the season, finishing runner-up in the club's Player of The Season at the annual end of season awards ceremony, behind captain Jorge Fernández. Valladolid On 18 July 2019, Rey joined La Liga side Real Valladolid for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year deal and being assigned to the reserves also in the third division.
