Orient Express is a cocktail bar in New York, New York. History Located at 325 West 11th Street, between the Greenwich Street and in New York, Orient Express is an upscale cocktail lounge in the West Village of New York named after the Orient Express, the iconic passenger train which inspired a number of flims and novels. The interior pays homage to a turn-of-the-century bar car on the famous train. Oak-paneled walls surround vintage luggage racks are stacked with trunks. Cocktails Orient Express is renowned for serving old-fashioned drinks that reflect the theme of the bar, like the Sleeping Car, made with house-infused apricot cognac, calvados and mint. The bar uses fresh ingredients in its cocktails and make all of the drinks with fresh juice squeezed to order. The ice originates as a 300-pound block that is delivered daily. A barback comes in for an hour each day before the bar opens to hand-carve the ice to perfectly fit the cocktail glasses. The ice is then frozen for a second time at a very low temperature. Food In addition to serving cocktails, Orient Express offers small plates including pastirma, Hungarian Sausage and Turkish Coffee Crème Brulee.
