Ontario United FC is an Canadian soccer team based in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 2011, the team was formed by the owners of the old Buffalo City FC franchise, which played one season in the National Premier Soccer League in 2009. In January 2011, the club announced its aspirations to become a franchise in one of the top professional soccer leagues in North America as the club moved to Ontario, Canada and became Ontario United FC. History After selling their NPSL franchise rights to FC Buffalo it was announced in 2011 that the club would move to Canada with intentions to join one of the several top North American soccer leagues and Ontario United FC was founded.
