OneVietnam Network

OneVietnam is an online network dedicated to reconnecting Vietnamese communities worldwide for cultural and philanthropic purposes. Like Twitter, OneVietnam allows members to find and follow causes they’re most interested in, and like Facebook, it provides members with a platform to organize charitable works and social projects of their own, as well as connect and interact with their community. Although still in development, OneVietnam has gained over 5,000 fans on Facebook , and its blog has received over 50,000 hits in the last year alone. OneVietnam is a non-profit organization and is considered a fiscal project under the East Meets West Foundation. Operations OneVietnam uses the latest in Web 2.0 and social media technology to connect members to each other, and to issues that matter most to them. With its launch, members will be able to access their OneVietnam accounts from multiple portals, engage with various philanthropic organizations, and keep up to date about impacting events in the community. Founding Story OneVietnam began in 2009 when a group of 1.5 and 2nd generation Vietnamese-Americans perceived a growing disconnect among Vietnamese communities, and decided to mend this disconnect by taking advantage of the internet’s accessibility. Since the time of its inception, OneVietnam has expanded into a virtual collaboration between Vietnamese professionals across continents. Its core team is made up mainly of graduates from UC Berkeley and Harvard.
