Omid Habibinia is an Iranian journalist who researches media, particularly the media of Iran and the United States. He is a former employee of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting. He currently lives in Switzerland, having left Iran due to a "regime that has violated freedom of expression". In 2009 he signed an open letter of apology posted to Iranian.com along with 266 other Iranian academics, writers, artists and journalists about the Persecution of Bahá'ís.
