Omega Theta Alpha

Omega Theta Alpha (ΩΘA) is a fraternal organization based out of the University of Ottawa, in Ottawa, Canada. Founded in 2002, Omega Theta Alpha is a men's-only organization that is dedicated to providing a complete post-secondary experience while demanding the personal improvement of each of its members in all aspects of life. Omega Theta Alpha seeks to improve the academic and social lives of each of its members, while helping to improve its local community. Omega Theta Alpha also strives to sharpen each member's leadership skills through numerous methods and opportunities. The Fraternity also encourages physical fitness and an active lifestyle through various programs and activities. Since its creation, Omega Theta Alpha has continued to grow and become more diverse. Today, Omega Theta Alpha has Brothers and Alumni engaged in a wide variety of professions worldwide.

Philanthropy
Omega Theta Alpha contains a strong philanthropy aspect to its organization. They have been found taking part in many sorts of events for many different charities, such as: clothing drives, canned food drives, Ride for Heart, etc. Several of their brothers have also volunteered at local soup kitchens and local shelters in an attempt to give back to the community in the most direct manner possible. Omega Theta Alpha is known to hold charity BBQ’s and draws to help raise money throughout the school year.
Omega Theta Alpha's official charity is Roger's House, a house created in honour of former Ottawa Senators Assistant Coach Roger Neilson who passed away from cancer in 2003. The house is collaborated with the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, the Ontario Ministries of Health and Children and Youth Services. Roger's House is an eight-bed care facility for children with progressive life-limiting illnesses.
