OFFER India

OFFER (Organization for Friends, Energy and Resources) is a child Rights Organisation working since 1987. Apart from providing care homes for mentally and multiple challenged kids, it is now responsible for running the only Paediatric Palliative Care Center for Children with HIV in the eastern part of India. It was founded by Kallol Ghosh, a child actiist and an Ashoka Fellow. It runs several programs such as Apanjan, Apanghar, Atmajan and Sahajpath.
Founder
Kallol Ghosh was born in 1965 in an upper middle class family. He is a commerce graduate. He is a social worker, an educator, a researcher and an advocate for the rights of the children. He was elected to the Ashoka Fellowship in 2008.
Apanjan
Apanjan program was started in 1999 for mentally challenged children suffering with severe learning difficulties. The program had started with 3 beneficiaries and benefits 250 children in 2017. The program is divided into 3 units: Residential, Day Care an Out Patient faciity. The children are mostly from semi-urban and rural areas of Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Burdwan, Bankura, Murshidabad and all other neighboring districts including northern parts of West Bengal.
