NoVa Media Watch is a blog started in 2009 by Craig Colgan. Its focus is media issues in Northern Virginia ("NoVa"), Washington, and beyond. It closely followed areas of the "2009 White House gatecrash incident," since the couple involved, Tareq and Michaele Salahi, had connections throughout Northern Virginia. On Dec. 14, 2009, NoVa Media Watch reported that representatives of the Salahis in May 2009 sent a letter to a Northern Virginia local newspaper, threatening legal action following coverage by that paper of a warning issued to the Salahis by the state of Virginia charging improper registration of an entity operated by the Salahis called Journey for the Cure.
