Nora Fountain

Nora Fountain (b. 20 August 1933 in Derby, England) is a British author of romance novels, under the name of Lorna McKenzie as well as her own name. After limited success with publisher Robert Hale, she turned to electronic publishing, releasing her first e-book - Blackthorn Child - on amazon.com and Smashwords in 2011.
Biography
Born 20 August in Derby, Nora was a keen reader from a young age, enjoying books by Enid Blyton as well as other favourites such as Peter Pan, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Robinson Crusoe. Later, she began to enjoy books by Thomas Hardy, as well as books by Margaret Pemberton and Noel Barber, whose war stories she believes probably influenced a lot of her own work.
Nora's first success as a published author came when she had short stories published for magazines such as Fiction Feast, Woman's Way, Ireland, The People's Friend, and Australian Women's Weekly.
After university, studying French Language and Law as a very mature student, Nora started working as a freelance legal translator.
By the time her she wrote her first novella - Twentieth-Century Pirate - her five children were all teenagers or at university. After a few adaptations, and then having to retype the whole novella from the carbon copy after her manuscript was lost in the post, she finally had her first book published by Robert Hale.
