Noel Ashman

Noel Ashman is an American Nightlife entrepreneur and Film Producer.
Biography
Noel Ashman is one of New York's defining nightlife entrepreneurs/ tycoons best known for his development and ownership of clubs such as Veruka, Upstairs at Studio 54<, Nell's, The Plummand most recently The Elsinore. He is credited as having been among those who first introduced bottle service to the Manhattan nightclub scene. His strict VIP only door policy helped to develop the genre of the "semi-private club". In addition to his own professional ventures, he has been involved in organizing special events for some of the most celebrated nightclubs the city has ever known: Club USA, Palladium, Tattoo, Red Zone, Limelight and more. Noel Ashman has been a defining fixture of the New York nightlife for over 25 years, with a professional resume that not only includes a Who's Who list of socialites, fashion, music, and media staples but also circumscribes some of the most important modern developments in Manhattan's nightlife culture.
Born in New York City in 1970, Noel graduated from the Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School in Manhattan in 1989. He went on to attend Boston University, where he earned a B.A in Economics in 1993. During which time Noel frequently traveled to New York in order to throw weekend events Uniquely independent at the age of 13, Noel began his career in the nightlife when he threw his first (all ages) party in 1982. It was through the success of this party and the many others that followed throughout the 80's that he was able to establish himself as one of the most trend defining nightlife figures in the 90's, as well as today.
Night club career
The 90's:
During the 1990's Noel Ashman managed promotions for parties at historical nightlife venues such as Avalon, and Tatou. Additionally, he hosted party's for such notable businesses as Wilhelmina Models,Playboy Enterprises, and Hampton's Magazine. In 1997 Noel opened his first club, Veruka, at the age of 27.

During the years that Veruka was in operation, it saw big-name celebrities go through its doors such as, Sean Penn, Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Wahlberg, Cuba Gooding Jr., Nicholas Cage, Debbie Harry, Dennis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sarah Jessica Parker , and was a constant hangout of The New York Yankees.
The 2000's
In 2004 he redid the old Nell's space into N.A which was later reopened as The Plumm in 2006. At the Plumm, Noel Ashman put together a dream team of celebrity investors that include Chris Noth, Jesse Bradford, Samantha Ronson, Joey McIntyre, David Wells, Bo Dietl, Ross Robinson, Simon Rex and Jason Grimsley . Ashman's innovations at The Plumm re-invented club culture. Attracting an exclusive clientele, Ashman took V.I.P. treatment to a new level offering an ‘invite-only’ membership in the form of a key chain that money couldn’t buy. . The Plumm closed in 2009.
Because of Noel's career in the night club industry he is frequently consulted by the press for all matters nightlife.
Film Career
In addition to his work in New York nightlife, Noel Ashman has also been an active producer in Hollywood and part owner of the production company CO-OP and as such was involved in the production of the David Rabe play The Dog Problem . His film credits include Mind the Gap (Eric Schaeffer, Alan King, Elizabeth Reaser, Kim Raver) and Never Again (Jeffrey Tambor, Jill Clayburg) - with Ashman in acting roles in both films; J.G. Ballard’s The Atrocity Exhibition and Speedway Junky.
