Noe Serrano

Noe Serrano (Córdoba, Spain 1972)
Spanish hiperrealist sculptor that has awakened one of the most incisive artistic expectations of recent years, turning himself into one of the most valueable artists of young Spanish avant-guard sculpture.
After getting a degree in Fine Arts by the University of Sevilla, he does his first comissioned works in the world of Special Effects.
Tired of the pressure of deadlines he decides to move into the art world, which allows him enough time and freedom to get the results he needs.
Fascinated by anatomy, as much human as animal, he focuses in the creation of half-men/half-animal bodies that deepen the most visceral emotions of the human being. In this world of bestiaries and fantastic beings, the anatomy puts itself at the service of art, irony, and critique.
His creative process is highly obsessive. Based on an idea, he begins a period of research and compilitation of data--that which brings him to realize constant visits to zoos as well as medicinal and veterinary institutes. At this point he begins an exaggerated process of anatomical study, throughout which he comes and goes, from the modeling bench to the dissection table, from graffiti to the scalpel, from the warmth of the sculpture to the coldness of the cadavers, all in a fascinating struggle of months of exhaustive work. In spite of its hyper-realism, his works have been meticulously modeled by hand, without variations from nature, and with positives of resin as its definitive material.
The process culminates with an elaborated and impacting polychromatic finish that accentuates even more, if possible, its amazing likeness to real life.
He is currently member of the art group "La Gallina Ciega" which reivindicates the relevance on figurative art in the contemporary artistic world.
Among his most renowned works there can be found: The Government Employee (2005), The Priest (2007), The Little Dictator (2008).
