Niles Malone

Niles Malone (born July 15, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Ballers of the Junior Basketball Association (JBA).
High school career
Malone attended Berkeley High School and competed for the Berkeley Red Devils in the spring and fall travel league. He helped lead the high school to a regional title, scoring 18 points in a 61-51 victory over Menlo-Atherton High School. Berkeley lost to Crespi High School in the state championship game despite 18 points from Malone. In his senior season, he averaged 21 points, 6 assists, and 5 steals per game.
College career
In his freshman season of college, Malone played at De Anza College competing in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). Malone scored 12 points in a loss to Fresno City College on November 29, 2017. On December 13, he posted 19 points against the College of Marin. In the season, Malone averaged 8.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game while shooting 45.4 percent from the field.
Professional career
In April 2018, Malone was chosen at a tryout as one of the first seven players to play for the Los Angeles Ballers of the Junior Basketball Association (JBA). He reportedly drove six hours to try out for the team. Malone continued his strong play the following game on June 24, scoring a game-high 48 points and grabbing 8 rebounds in a 150-145 win over the Seattle Ballers. In a high-scoring, 171-140 game against the Philadelphia Ballers on July 11, he contributed 21 points and 11 assists. In the team's season finale on June 26, Malone recorded a near triple-double with 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists in a 169-153 win over the Houston Ballers. He was named to the West roster for the JBA All-Star Game at the end of the season.
