== Early Life + Career Beginnings (1992-2015) ==
Born and raised in London, England, Hissom grew up in Westminster with his parents and his younger brother, Alex. At age 7, he began re-writing the lyrics to songs he had learnt from Disney movies, and auditioning for school plays. At age 15, he left London for boarding school in Switzerland, from where he graduated.
At age 18, Hissom moved to Philadelphia, where he attended the University of Pennsylvania, and began writing songs from his college dorm room. He released his first single "If I Die Young" in July 2013 during his Junior year. After graduating in 2014, Hissom relocated to Los Angeles where he caught the eye of super-producer Steve Morales (Enrique Iglesias, Christina Aguilera, Lil Wayne). Produced by Morales, Hissom released his debut EP "Love Energy" in May 2016. The EP<nowiki/>'s lead single "One" (co-written by R. City) was met with critical acclaim and entered the media base airplay charts at #74. "Where You Are" was released as the second promotional single from "Love Energy", along with a music video; however, it failed to enter the charts despite widely positive reviews.
Sony Music, "He Ain't Better", and Debut Album (2016-Present)
In July 2016, Hissom's producer introduced Nick to famed talent manager Derek Jackson, while he was recording in Miami. Jackson immediately took a liking to the project, but suggested that Hissom try singing to slower, more rhythmic tracks in order to better showcase his vocals. With the help of Jackson's former client, hip hop mega-producer Scott Storch, they began work.
The resulting batch of songs quickly generated buzz across the music industry, and Hissom signed a partnership agreement with Red Distribution and Sony Music, subsequently creating his own record label, Massive Entertainment, in January 2017 at just age 24. Shortly thereafter, a track of Hissom's called "Tie Me Up" was leaked onto Soundcloud, reportedly featuring Bryson Tiller. Hissom recently confirmed this in an interview for Hype Magazine, but has not yet provided an official release date for the song.
On 25 August 2017 Hissom released "He Ain't Better" as the lead single off his upcoming debut album. A 'slinky' and 'bravado-infused' song, "He Ain't Better" has accumulated over 1,100,000 streams on Spotify thus far and is continuing to gain traction. Recently, Hissom was announced as iHeart Radio's Emerging Artist of the Week. Further unconfirmed collaborations for the album include Rick Ross and Mario. The album is expected for release in 2018.
Fashion
Prior to graduating from high school, Hissom was scouted as a model by The Talent Net (a model management company) in the summer of 2010. Within a short period of time, he was signed worldwide, boasting multiple agencies throughout Europe and the United States. Since then, Hissom went on to work with famed fashion photographers such as Kai Z Feng and Greg Harris, and appeared in; editorials for GQ Magazine, various high end advertising campaigns, and model on numerous occasions for fashion icon Tommy Hilfiger.
