Ngedikes "Olai" Uludong, is an active public servant with experience in environmental policy and management throughout Micronesia and Pacific region, coordinating environment and climate change work in the Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Republic of Nauru, Republic of Maldives, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) process, and served as the Lead Negotiator for the United Nations Negotiating Bloc: the Alliance of Small Islands States (AOSIS) in New York. In February 2015, Ms. Ngedikes "Olai" Uludong was appointed Palau’s new Ambassador to the European Union and representative for climate change matters, further strengthening EU and Palau relations. She was also the Senior Advisor on climate change to the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Maldives, which is the chair of the Alliance of Small Islands State (AOSIS). Olai is best known for her previous position as the Lead Negotiator for climate change for AOSIS under the Republic of Nauru’s chairmanship that ended in 2014.
