History
Newman Grace Inc. was founded in 1996 by graphic designer Jerri Hemsworth. Jerri graduated from Pepperdine University's Communications Division, having studied advertising, and began her career as a typesetter. Jerri went on to become an art director and worked with firms including Bernard Hodes, Werner Publishing, and Aware Products. In 1996 she founded Newman Grace Inc. as a California Corporation. Since that time Newman Grace Inc. has served as the agency of record for numerous California-based brands. In 1999 Brian Hemsworth came to the company and today serves as president. Brian is the creator of F.O.C.U.S. Branding, and he also serves as an adjunct professor of communications studies at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. As a woman-owned-business owner and the president of the National Association of Women Business Owners (California Chapter), Jerri Hemsworth has worked on behalf of women-owned and small businesses, including successful lobbying efforts to have California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger sign legislation to study the contracting of "micro businesses."
Divisions & Publications
In addition to the marketing communications division, Newman Grace is also the publisher of Travelworld International Magazine and Inside Latino Entertainment Magazine. Other divisions include Grace Non-Profit Communications() (specializing in marketing communications for non-profits), NGI Publishing Services (specializing in magazine and book publishing and marketing services), and Brian Hemsworth — Executive Marketing Coach (specializing in personal marketing coaching and consulting). In addition, Newman Grace Inc. also operates the following blogs: Brand Building Buzz by Brian Hemsworth (marketing related topics) and Building The Non-Profit Brand (non-profit marketing and research).
