Nathan Scott "Nate" Barcalow is the lead vocalist for the Post-hardcore band Finch. He also has a side project called Cosmonaut and provided backing vocals for Philadelphia pop punk band The Starting Line on their 2002 album Say It Like You Mean It. During the writing and recording of Finch's debut album, What It Is To Burn, Barcalow received vocal lessons from post-hardcore musician Daryl Palumbo from the band Glassjaw. Finch Barcalow formed Finch in the late 1990s with Randy Strohmeyer, Alex Pappas, Alex Linares and Derek Doherty. After recording one EP and two successful albums, the band went on hiatus in 2006, but reformed in late 2007 with Drew Marcogliese on drums and Daniel Wonacott on bass; both from Cosmonaut. Cosmonaut In 2006, whilst Finch were on hiatus, Barcalow started a side-project entitled Cosmonaut with Daniel Wonacott, Drew Marcogliese and Jon Fraser. They didn't release anything, but only recorded several songs. Wonacott and Marcogliese went on to join Finch with Barcalow when they reformed in 2007. Wonacott moved from guitar in Cosmonaut to bass guitar in Finch.
