Naresh Sonee Sohum Sutra is a controversial Indian poet-author born on 11th February 1958 in Phagwara Punjab. He aroused a major reaction in the press in response to his writing about homosexuality. He is a commerce college drop out. At the age of four he and his three sisters along with his parents shifted their base to Mumbai . His father was a small time ‘wrist watch parts’ business man. Naresh Sonee enjoyed an in built quality of scribbling rhymes since the age of eleven. He writes in his country language Hindi as well as English . Early Career Naresh Sonee as a lone brother among five sisters had no option left other than to shatter his dream or goal in his teen age. He was forced by destiny to take responsibility for his family at the early age of 19. Parallel to studies in college, he tryed his hands in manufacturing watch accessories, key chains etc. However like the snakes and ladders game, circumstances made him ever dodge, climb up and down, getting him over the time professionally engaged in manufacturing creative clocks, watches gift articles, fashion jewelries and so on. Till 2007, he lives and leads his family in Mumbai.
Regarding his book ‘Brhmaand Pujan’
Though Naresh Sonee writes in many genres, in 1999 he came out with a special spiritual book Brhmaand Pujan. In India, Sonee came to attention among the Holy Gurus & Saints of India, when many prominent and leading newspapers and media persons of India gave many strong reviews and reactions in form of news covering his book positively. However, Brhmaand Pujan is a Hindi name, which means 'Universal Prayers'. The manuscript of this book was written in 1994, but the book was published by Cosmolatry Spiritual Enlightment in the year 1999. Time to time till date, according to news paper critics, in fact, Sonee’s thoughts which are all composed in verses reflect spiritualism without using or shifting gears of and on to mythologies and religions.
Unlike all world renowned religious or traditional books, those offer all sort of myths-n-magic to influence, motivate, sustain and generate all form of followers, Among all, this particular book is a remote exceptional case, very blunt and outspoken in approach. Prayers are like fearless , naked /open debate and encounters with God , ‘The Almighty One’ who handles the universe. In Brhmaand Pujan, No pampering is done to influence God . Neither pilgrimages, shrines, guru mantras, confessions, and sacrifices are offered to influence God. Indeed in Sonee’s literature , God is just dealt as a creator & destroyer , friend and enemy too. As one child deal with parent or good friend debating and criticizing each other . So does the author does in it.
Though the author has criticized openly to God and his so called universe, but the book converts the readers more wisely spiritual at last. After completing the book , even the critic says: "The author succeed to scan spirituality more deeply using logics and self drawn philosophy which are all in (rhymed) verses and infact turn and twist worth fully by expressing and exposing every word with thorough wisdom".
The strong point in it resides to the writer’s authenticity of naked thoughts. He fight with God , He teases God, He provoke God to come out and answer him and his silly queries. The thoughts in verses are practical and well mannered, yet for ever it will remain fresh and updated according to reviewers .Unlike old carried forward hymns or songs. The book cross every limit to question God in logical verses . Even the critics has praised and approved Sonee’s work. Renowned Hindu saints and Gurus could not find Sonee’s writing wrong . On and above they are finding all absolutely ethical and logical in approach as per requirement of updated time. His literature carries no praise or bias for any religion.
This Indian writer’s thoughts are unique and exceptional in approach according to many genius and brilliant critics. Though the book is non-religious but few prominent Hindu Saints are admiring the author’s work. They say Brhmaand Pujan is one of its kind. So far , in place like India , where religion is used as bread and butter or else the same is used by some to spread career or terror. Reviewers or critics had concluded that the book is full of wise worth full verses . Though the book is in capsule size of total 31 pages but the same can withstand and weigh much more compared to millions of pages that effect to make all religious epics or sacred scriptures of past or present . The sacred verses in this small capsulated book of Brhmaand Pujan can be tested at any given time of past, present or future which human consider or control by spell of – ‘Commandments in Wisdoms’.
May then they be spiritually, scientifically, philosophically or philanthropically- regional or religious otherwise. Brhmaand Pujan is attributed for all wise cause and concern of the world. Readers and reviewers says- Till date, in history apart from Sonee’s book(sacred scripture), there is no book in Indian or Global history by such name- Brhmaand Pujan. According to readers and reviewers , first time an author has come out with the open intention to spread his prayers as the blunt, outspoken , fearless talk with God .
Why the book is withdrawn since 2000 However the author had withdrawn this particular book in 2000 as he does not intend to earn profit by using God’s name. Sonee believes that there are many creative or positive ways to earn and a real spiritualist never creates a professional career out of selling/buying God. To affirm this meaning, he gave examples of Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, Mahavira , Kabir, Sai Baba and Tukaram. The author hates to sell /buy spiritualism. Sonee believes, earning if any from ‘spiritualism’ should only be used for uplifting weaker , under privileged sections of mankind. For instance; distressed, diseased. Handicap people who are physically either mentally challenged.
Sonee believes, ‘Spiritualism and Struggle journey along , until death., One is right , the other is left’ . If one could grow rich by practicing spiritualism or pampering Gods. Jesus , Sai Baba, Buddha , Kabir and many struggling religious Messiahs cum Prophets would had been the wealthiest individuals on earth during their eras. For such wise people gimmicks to gain fame and fortune was immaterial. Philanthropy is an innocent wise mission. If due to some or other reasons one cannot find time to get selflessly involve in God’s work, or such grants and missionaries , one should not selfly earn by offering philanthropy work on God’s name.
As per prominent newspapers and media reports, the author needed no royalty or earnings from his book Brhamaand Pujan, so time and again since year 2000, he is approaching Presidents & Governments of India to take custody of his written ‘spiritual script’ Brhmaand Pujan. The author need to earn no royalty from this book. The only wish what the author dreams if it come true. He suggest that the Government of India should use and distribute earning from this book to raise handicaps, illiterate and diseased people regardless to their region or religion. He is also looking forward for other countries Government to consider publishing this book in different languages.
The writer is against giving a birth to a new ‘Religion or God’. The author believes hatred in world should be buried and all sane religion should merge with each other. There should be ‘One Universal Religion – which should be named as -‘Human Religion’
What does ‘Sohum Sutra’ means ?
Appearing from the 'Hindi' name Soham Sutra added to the author’s original name- Naresh Sonee. ‘Soham Sutra’ – ‘Soham’ in Hindi and Sanskritmeans ‘Universe’ while ‘Sutra’ means ‘Son / breed /Source /Link’. However it appears that the author wanted to come out from his cult or sect’s ‘sir name’ - ‘Sonee’ which appears as it was making him caste/cult bound so he added ‘Sohum Sutra’ to himself.
Sonee is against giving this book to any publisher as this will not be a philontropy approach but professional . he is also against forming any religion, group, society, missionary or trust as he feels all are already enough in world . There should be no place for one more extra religion for mankind. However Soham Sutra strongly suggest every religion should update and approve ‘goods’ of every religion thus eliminating all bad- such as myths, superstitions, orthodoxy or emotions of grudge, hatred for other’s religion’. He further suggest every religion should come under one umbrella of Universe- loving , sharing , mingling and merging with wise and sane full though and acts that is the only option to update and uplift civilization, accelerating and elevating it.
Sonee says-‘The Self Created -Brhmand –Who created ‘All earth born Gods private else universal, since ‘Time’ immortal , there exist only 'One Sole Soul' above every or any religion of the world. This Self Created Time-The Brhmand (Universe) who had created infinite galaxies , planets including this tiny earth where all Gods had come from, and moreover , had went away with time, after making their present felt for specific time, in specific era, specefic region or specific religions .
Sonee has introduced his ‘Time God’ in 1992
Sonee argue that there is a ‘Time God’ – Who is Universe in itself. But the ‘Time God’ along with ‘Universe’ was and is still existing before or after ‘All earth born private Gods’. He debate , since time immortal not even any ‘Single Religious God’ of any religion of the world could succeed selfly to convert all sane human inside His own religion. All failed embarrassingly and followers are still trying their best to keep their God soul flowing, since their God left them to breed . So why brilliant and wise mind should not group up in ‘One Religion’ of humankind. ‘Human Religion’ should be the mantra of every sane or wise human.
What & Who is ‘Time God”? ‘Time God’ thesis in poetry were written by Naresh Sonee. He started writing thesis in poetry forms , all in verses (Hindi & English) on ‘Time God’ at the time when he finished schooling in 1975. He started to write on Brhmaand from 1982. Both ‘Time God’ & ‘Brhmaand Pujan’ are poetic philosophy (Anthology in few 1000’s of verse full pages)
Acknowledge the Universe as Ultmate God However Sonee suggest - Still the wise human or their religion refuse to acknowledge the self created ‘Universe’ as ultimate ‘God’. This author in his own form comes up with every logical, philosophical and spiritual reasons which explains to every religion that the world or this tiny earth or it’s human or God men have no reason to dictate or underestimate the ‘power/force/energy’ of the Universe. But comparing to the ‘Universe’- ‘all earth born Gods’ had to restrain for specific time, era, region and religion. But the UNIVERSE – The BRHMAND still prevails since before or after all. So he suggests every body should worship ‘Universe’ along with their God. There should be no agent in between as today every religious mediator is a thorough professionalist , who is selling his personal God or God’s good to ignorant and innocent seekers who buy their take.
He further adds time has come , many obsolete things in every religion which still are pack and parcel of life , being practiced should be buried as taboo. This author from India question – Why still there had come no single ‘Religion or God’ who could 100 % succeed to convince, make every or entire world believe about ‘Self’ that ‘They’, ‘He’ or ‘She’ are the ‘Exclusive One God’ to offer their wise, mythological or magical religion to the entire world ?
Is Sonee atheist ? Apart from so many people of India, the author is also misunderstood by his own father who as a token religiously ‘Hindu’ and never approved his son’s version or visions of verses composed in his book ‘Brhmaand Pujan’- According to him, his son is a ‘Nastik’ which mean ‘atheist’.
Self Commandments of Brhmaand Pujan The Brhmaand Pujan book dictates own self style commandments of ‘Cosmolatry Spiritual Enlightments’. In his writing, Sonee shows concern and empathy for each and every religion with true respect and regards. Without blaming or naming any religion Brhmaand Pujan decode the root of every religion sense fully and logically, linking the roots of every religion of the world to the ‘Brhmaand’ which means the ‘Universe’ or ‘Cosmos’.
Whether - Scientifically, Spiritually , Philosophically, Philanthropically the book gels with every genre without disturbing any region or religion. The book finally conclude every God seeker, whether believer or atheist, both can understand God through ‘spiritual + scientific’ turn and term. The thought and verses in Brhmand Pujan are brief yet clear to sum up the author’s expression and intention of a strange poet’s dream, where - ‘Gods & Goods of every sane religion should be regarded, accepted , shared and exchanged. Vice versa myths, orthodoxy , hatred , discrimination should be eliminated . Peace and Progress should be restrained and carried forward as the perfect and prior aim and mantra of every religion.
Sohum Sutra suggest every prophet, saint and seer of any region and religion should merge-n-mingle for the betterment, uplifting of the world which is essential for the revolution of the next new generation those need to reside happily along with good health and harmony. Next generation will sooner or later move forward to an self intuitive inbuilt caption - ‘Live-n-Let other live’ or ‘Live along- Loving All along’ immaterial to caste/cult/creed/country.
11/11 is the ‘Global God Day’ 11/11 is the ‘Global God Day’ declared by Naresh Sonee Sohum Sutra. He wish ‘All God’ should be worshiped equally on this day. Sonee strangely but strongly believe that even ‘Sane & Wise Gods’ of each-n-every cults’ whom so ever came on this tiny earth of universe. Their ‘Holy Spirits’ would now love to celebrate with each other regardless to their religions. Sonee’s notion is that - all Gods are eager to update ‘Their Selves’. at least on this particular day 11/11 without keeping envy or bias among each other religions. His poems dreams that- Jesus, Krishna, Buddha and other who all are worshipped in such brackets want to get lenient and liberal in approach . Sonee advocate in his poems , ‘every cult’s Messiah or Prophet today in this generation are wishing to drown, ground (erase) their hatred with each other and want to get released from walls of their religious shrines. On this particular day 11/11, Gods of every cult want to enjoy, dance and to party , getting along right , amicably , generously mingling , mixing with each other.

Sonee says on Gays lesbians
Some readers says Naresh Sonee reserve bias against Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals. Media person has termed him as homophobic. However some says- Sonee’s articles are quietly misunderstood by many minds. Many say he reserves bias against Homosexuals, Gays, Lesbians, and Bisexuals. Sonee became the talk of the media and mass when he announced and offered his own formed formula to the entire world writing on and after September 2, 2006, some open articles, announcing and inviting attentions of United Nations Council, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Religions of almost all prominent countries that Grants & Missionaries should come up with Counseling Centers, Rehabilitant Centre, Asylums for such communities whose behaviors seem to echo unusual or abnormal characteristics. All such which are not easily acceptable by the major mass of society or modern civilization in general. The reason behind may be perhaps the updated civilization. however, the author feels- human had come or struggled a long way trying to eliminate many taboos since Apes or Adam age. Needless to say some thoughts and acts those are still prevailing in present, modern else tribal society.
According to the author discriminating or reserving bias with such community homosexuals, gays, lesbians is very inhuman. Violence should be replaced by empathy and counseling so that new born may not get affected by such awkward off line of thoughts. It appears from his writings that Sonee ruled out that such characteristics are rarely in built or rather inherited right from the genes in birth . As per his impressions one either get engage to a self style urge of acute attractions for such senseless lust as animal instinct do. Later such desire may get chronically obsessed, tempting again and again, to finally reach to the verge of addictions of such kind of outlawed else restricted behaviors.
Sonee explains - Same as one do get to cigarette, alcohol, drugs, bisexuals ,spouse swap , orgy , gang bang, paedophile sex etc. All such characteristics too develop in childhood or later age-n-stage of lives as per circumstances, surrounding of brought ups . Whereas, later alcohol and drugs also instrumentally influence and instigate such types of acts or embarrassing behaviors in innocent/ignorant or intentional human . He, as a thinker, further feels that curbing such addictions through counseling is the best proposal or solution than hate or punishment remedies of harsh law in society. He also suggests, that the government universities, parents, teachers all over, should openly come out and educate children in school, societies and homes by introducing verbal or written syllabus educating the bad effects of such activities.
Naked talk of Sonee According to Sonee – All such communities those are in question never can breed a healthy wise world for today’s or next generations of children. As a smoker or drug addict cannot justify his child to fall in such cruel or hopeless addiction , so should such communities come out and help children of the world . Sonee says- Such communities those are already addicted to adopt such behaviors should come forward applying wisdom and give open interview as other addicted communities do for human welfare. Sonee further adds, such off line sexual communities can never draw, design or offer a sense/sane full path if they happen to artificially create a birth of a child by the help of science or otherwise get emotionally involve to adopt and raise some children. Wisdom wise such communities later in due course can also not succeed to convince or draw a line of reputation in sex among their two raised children who they wish to bring up like brother and sister, as it is possible that these brother sister may need each other for sex. With such erupting societies the world will again have to re start from zero and the married ‘brother-sisters’ would further demand law to be amended for their natural basic instinct - urge to enjoy sex with each other as we human used to do in Adam or Ape Age. In those days nature or human used to justify brother-sisters marring each other. So should such days come again? Gays lesbians, Bisexuals are carried forward breed of those time . Should such activities still sustained? So such communities should never attempt to spoil a new life or child by adopting or giving birth. All such acts are matter of indecent lust and urge of human. Those should be clipped by law according to Sonee.
