Nanda Kishore Samal born in village Kusupur of Cuttack District, State of Orissa on 12th June 1925 and died on 19th May 2003. A prominent poet, lyrist and dramatist. He is famous for his poem "Ama Ghar". His published Books are (i) Gunduchi Musara Pithere Gar (ii) Saragphula (iii)Mu Kahibi Kathatie (iv)Ame A Matira Suna Farua (v)Mate Jetebele Dasa Barasa (vi)Martya Mandale Deha Bahi (vii)Cie Mu Tame(viii)Ama Lagi jia Sahid Hele (ix)Hasi Hasaiba Dhara (x)Mo Gaon Mo Ghara (xi)Aja Pacharile Aaiki etc. He wrote near about 40 drama which are very popular. Recentely "Nanda Kishore Samal Rachanabali" was published by the editorship of Dr. Basanta Kishroe Sahoo consisting 400 pages. Near about 5 Volume of Rachanabali will be published shortly. For the book Mote Jetebele Dasa Baras, he is awarded the Orissa Sahitya Akademy Award.
