Nan Hua Primary School () is a government primary school in Singapore. It is located at 30 Jalan Lempeng, which is in Clementi in western Singapore. History Nan Hua Primary School was first established in 1917 by some Overseas Chinese businessmen. It was located at Coleman Street and had its beginnings as a girls' school. It only started taking in boys in 1962. Nan Hua Primary School moved to Clementi in 1984, and was first located at the Clementi Avenue 1 campus up to 1998, before relocating to its present Jalan Lempeng campus in 1999. The primary school was affiliated with Nan Hua Secondary School, now Nan Hua High School, until April 1986, when the latter became a government school. Contrary to popular belief, there is now no affiliation between Nan Hwa Girls' High School and Nan Hua Primary School. Nan Hua Primary School is now also a GEP-Based primary school. School motto The school motto is "Courtesy, Righteousness, Integrity, Sense of Shame, Loyalty, Filial Piety, Humanity and Love", a translation of the Chinese å¿ , å?, ä»?, 爱 , 礼, 义, 廉, 耻 (pinyin: , zhÅ?ng, xiào, rén, aì, li, yi, lian, chi), which is the same as Nan Hua High School. School crest The School Crest is made up of three eccentric circles, one within the other and with the arc of each circle almost meeting one another at the top. The white English initials of the school name are placed in the innermost circle while the red Chinese characters are placed in the second circle. The Crest has three colours: blue to represent decorum, white for integrity and red for love. The innermost circle represents righteousness and sense of shame. The second circle represents loyalty and filial piety. The third cirle, which encompasses the first and second circles, symbolises the eight qualities of courtesy, righteous, integrity, sense of shame, loyalty, filial piety, humanity and love which we hope to inculcate in our pupils. Higher management staff Mdm Fong Yuet Kwai, a former principal of Nan Hua Primary School. She has spent 55 years, first studying in Nan Hwa Girls' High (presently Nan Hua High School) and then teaching and leading in Nan Hua Primary. She retired in 2003, after spending 55 years in the Nan Hua family. The current principal is Mrs. Lee Hui Feng. The current vice-principal is Mr Ng Buck Chwee.
