Myles Ponsonby, 12th Earl of Bessborough

Myles Fitzhugh Longfield Ponsonby, 12th Earl of Bessborough (born 16 February 1941), known as Viscount Duncannon from 1993 until 2002, is a British peer, holding an earldom and other titles in the Peerage of Ireland and the barony of Ponsonby of Sysonby in the Peerage of Great Britain, which until 1999 gave the head of the family a seat in the House of Lords.
Education and career
The son of Arthur Ponsonby, 11th Earl of Bessborough, and his wife Patricia, daughter of Col. Fitzhugh Lee Minnigerode, the young Ponsonby was educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Cambridge. He became an accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. In 2002, he succeeded to his father's peerages.
Family
In 1972, married Alison Marjorie Storey, daughter of William Storey, and together they have three children:
*Frederick Ponsonby, Viscount Duncannon (born 9 August 1974)
*Lady Chloe Patricia Ponsonby (born 1975)
*Hon. Henry Shakerley Ponsonby (born 1977)
Succession
The heir apparent to the earldom is his eldest son, Frederick Ponsonby, Viscount Duncannon. In 2005 he married Emily Mott, daughter of Dr Peter Mott, and together they have two children:
*Hon. Eleanor Grace Ponsonby (born 8 May 2006)
*Hon. William Ponsonby (born 6 May 2008)
