My Story Begins is a Dutch television comedy-drama series, created by Marco van Bergen, who also serves as show runner, and produced by LinleyBros. LLC. Studios
The setting of the show is the street of Apple Road in the fictional American town of Point Pleasant. It follows the lives of the neighbors, seen through the eyes of the teenager Florian Wheeler, as he opens the doors for us of their well-kept houses, and gives us an inside-out look in the lives of American people in perfect suburbia. The show features an ensemble cast, headed by Martijn van de Velde as Florian Wheeler, Carré Albers as Carolyn Wheeler, Andy Teerlink as Terrence Levine, Nina de Koning as Angela Levine, and Yuba Maghnouij as Cody Levine. Martijn van de Velde narrates the show. Production The idea for the series was born as Marco van Bergen was driving through the streets of the Wickelhof II neighborhood of Mijdrecht in August 2007.
The LinleyBros. executives weren’t initially satisfied with the name of the new show, suggesting Welcome to Point Pleasant and What Dreams may Come instead, since "My Story Begins" was said to be 'offensife', but on October 19, 2007, My Story Begins was announced by LinleyBros,, presented as a prime time soap opera created by Marco van Bergen of Zero Hour fame, who declared the new show to be a mix of Desperate Housewives and American Beauty.
Production crew Executive producers for the first season were – in addition to Marco van Bergen – Nina de Koning and Gregory Linley. Marco van Bergen has, as of the first season, been the most prominent director, directing more than half of the series’ episodes.
Music Jay Acosta's underscore exist mostly out of electronic instruments, but for every episode, a live string ensemble is brought in which gives the music a 'realistic' sound.
