My Name Is Khan is a Bollywood film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, and directed by Karan Johar. It is scheduled for shooting in 2008, and is aiming for a 2009 release The film aims to show the plight of the Muslim community after the September 11, 2001 attacks and the ensuing war on terror. It also deals with isolation and insecurity among the Indian Muslims. The movie will be produced under the Dharma Productions banner. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have been cast as the leads in this film, making this the first film with them cast together in seven years. The two of them have collaborated on Bazigar, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in the last decade. Their last screen appearance together was in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham |
