Muslims Against Sharia is a reformist Muslim group that fights against Islamic Fascism. They also fight against Sharia Law. They call for Sharia Law to be abolished, because it is incompatible with norms of modern society.
Sharia law calls for brutal punishment meted out by Islamic courts. This includes the stoning of women who are accused of adultery or have children out of wedlock, cutting off the hands of petty thieves and lashings for the casual consumption of alcohol. Under Sharia law,woman are required to provide numerous witnesses to prove rape allegations and this can be nearly impossible.
Goals To educate Muslims about dangers presented by Islamic religious texts and why Islam must be reformed. To educate non-Muslims about the differences between moderate Muslims and Islamists (a.k.a. Islamic Religious Fanatics, Radical Muslims, Muslim Fundamentalists, Islamic Extremists or Islamofascists). To educate both Muslims and non-Muslims alike that Moderate Muslims are also targets of Islamic Terror.
Islam vs. violence Muslims Against Sharia preaches that Islam has no place for violence. They believe any person calling for an act of violence in the name of Islam must be promptly excommunicated. also, any grievances must be addressed by lawful authorities. They state that it is the religious and civic duty of every Muslim to unconditionally condemn any act of terrorism perpetrated in the name of Islam. The group feels that any Muslim group that has ties to terrorism in any way, shape, or form, must be universally condemned by both religious and secular Muslims.
==The STOP HONORCIDE! campaign== The STOP HONORCIDE! campaign was launched on Mother's Day 2008. The goal of the campaign is to prosecute honorcides to the fullest extent of the law. Muslims Against Sharia wants honorcide to be classified as a hate crime and we advocate for every existing hate crime legislation to be amended to include honorcide.
Founding members Ilshat Alsayef is one of the founding members of Muslims Against Sharia. He was born in of the Asian republics of the former Soviet Union. A military officer for most of his adult life, Mr. Alsayef started his military career as a Second Lieutenant during the Soviet-Afghan war and retired as a Lieutenant-Colonel after the First Chechen War.
