Mushroom Kingdom Fusion is a non-profit fan-made platforming video game that is based on Super Mario Bros.. It is crossed over with elements, characters, and settings from a multitude of other video games. Gameplay and content The game consists of game mechanics primarily from Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, the Super Mario All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 2, as well as Super Mario World. Enemy characters include standard Mario-universe enemies, demonic beings, alien creatures, and human soldiers. The music includes the usual Mario series music, along with tracks from the , and other games featured in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. The game features items from the Mario series and weaponry originally used by the Covenant races in Halo, in addition to suit items that bestow upon the main playable characters the guise and abilities of certain characters from the Mega Man universe. Characters Characters featured in Mushroom Kingdom Fusion include Mario, Luigi and Wario, joined by a roster of characters from other video game franchises such as the Sonic the Hedgehog series and the Mega Man classic series. Development Development started in 2008 using Hello Engine 3, a pre-built game engine in Game Maker 7<ref name="engine"/>. It was then called Super Mario Fusion. Eventually, the project split into two separate paths. Super Mario Fusion, which follows closer to the traditional Mario formula, and Mushroom Kingdom Fusion, which combines elements from various video game series. 0.41 is their current version. Design influences The design of the game is influenced by video game franchises such as the Sonic, Doom, and Mega Man series and other Nintendo titles. Other game franchises featured include, but are not limited to, Metal Slug, Castlevania, Contra, R-Type, and Ghosts 'n Goblins. Some obscure game titles represented include E.V.O.: Search for Eden, and Commander Keen. Even recent games have been included like Halo Reach,1, 2 & 3 Reception
