Mr Broccoli is an English climate change protester. He is a member of the Extinction Rebellion offshoot Animal Rebellion. Appearance Mr Broccoli is always seen with green face paint and a broccoli floret-style head-dress. He wears silver mirrored aviator sunglasses and a suit with an orange tie. Arrest Mr Broccoli was arrested on Oxford Street in London on 13 October 2019. He was holding a sign that read 'I'm locally sourced and environmentally friendly' and called out "Give peas a chance". The Reuters journalist Andrew Marshall said that he was detained under section 14 of the Public Order Act but later released without charge. He revealed that he was part of a group of climate protesters who bared their buttocks in the House of Commons that April. His real name was reported as Roland. Mr Broccoli became a viral sensation and a symbol of the "crackdown" on non-violent protesting by the police. Asked about his arrest, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police said they could not comment on individual arrest cases. Mr Broccoli repeatedly referred to the show's presenter Piers Morgan as 'Peas'. At one point in the interview he picked up a banana and held it to his ear, pretending he had "a call". He repeated the lines "I'm just a broccoli at the end of the day" and "I'm just a humble broccoli". Reception Mr Broccoli was met with negative reception on Twitter. Elliott Wright of The Only Way Is Essex said that he was "a moron", and that Morgan should have "served him up on a plate".
