Mount Hermon Christian School is a co-educational private school located in Fort Myers, Florida.
History
Mount Hermon Christian School was founded in 1988 by Rev. P.L. Daymon Sr. The School was opened with 31 students, one administrative teacher, two teachers, one teacher’s aide, volunteers, office staff and the Pastor.
The school ranged from pre-kindergarten to second grade with the theme “Christianity, Academics and Character.”
In just three years of the school’s opening MHCS saw great growth with 90 students in attendance, one administrative teacher, 5 full-time teachers, 1 part-time teacher, 3 teacher’s aides, 1 extended childcare supervisor, 3 person volunteer lunchroom staff, and many more volunteers. Grades extended from pre-kindergarten to fourth grade with fifth grade to be added for the 91/92 school term. The school's grade levels increased from the original 31 to 156 students and by August 2000 the school had grown from 156 students to over 200 students with grade levels from Kindergarten to 12th grade.
Athletics & National Championships
Mount Hermon Christian School is the home of the Mount Hermon Lions 4 year NACA National Champions. The MHCS Lions held this title from 1999 to 2002.
