Moov is a company that sells wearable fitness technology; "Moov" is also the name of its products — a sensor device and apps that pair with the sensor. The apps provide real-time feedback during various forms of exercise, comparing the user's movements with those of experts that the company had previously recorded. At that time, Moov planned to offer five apps at its intended launch in the coming summer: running, cycling, swimming, cardio boxing, and training with weights. The first app, for running and walking, launched for iOS in August 2014, and the company released an app each month until December, when it also released the run-walk app for Android. In October 2014, the company received $3 million in Series A funding from Banyan Capital, a China-based venture capital firm.
