Monotwin

Monotwin are notable for having American slam poet Mighty Mike McGee as their vocalist. Mike has won numerous titles including "World Poetry Slam Championships". Mike McGee is the first slam poet to win both the American National Poetry Slam Individual Grand Championship, in 2003, and the Individual World Poetry Slam Championship, in 2006. Mike has performed around the world to crowds of up to 15,000 people. He often performs to Monotwin backing tracks whilst reciting poetry.
In 1996, Santa Clara valley natives Mike McGee and Bryce Dumont started making music together. Collaborations with various other musicians ensued, but after the demise of their last band together, Mike and Bryce decided that what was special about all the projects they'd worked on was the working relationship between the two of them. So, they became a production duo and a band under the banner of Monotwin.
A flurry of recordings were made, a few acoustic gigs happened, but Bryce was quickly swept away into the world of professional sound recording, design, and stage management while Mike was equally swept off into the world of International Poetry Slams. When their busy scheduals allowed, the duo continued to collaborate.
In 2003, Bryce moved to England with his family and Mike embarked on a non-stop North American tour. Still, the two continued to work together via snail mail and the wonders of broadband internet.
In 2007, Bryce met Lee Seager. The two quickly started writing and producing together and also created The Shed, a small recording studio in South Devon. When Mike started writing words to some of Bryce and Lee's recordings, it became clear that Monotwin was expanding.
Monotwin now have numerous tracks and are working on their first album. For anyone that knows Mikes poetry, it is powerful, yet emotional and blends perfectly with the music produced by Bryce and Lee.
The band were recently noticed by BlogTalkRadio and had the track "Lullaby" aired on "The Oracle Lounge". The band were interviewed for over half an hour and the producer of the show requested the band write a track for him as he enjoyed "Lullaby" so much.
