Mohammed Hijab

Mohammed Hijab is a debater and public speaker who engages in discussions and polemics on a wide variety of topics including religion, politics and society.
Education
He also holds degrees in those fields acquiring his undergraduate degree in Politics and a master's degree in History (both from Queen Mary University of London). He did another Masters in Islamic studies (from School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London). He has numerous ijazat in some Islamic sciences such as Hadith, Usul and Arabic, and has also studied in multiple Islamic seminaries including the Shinqeeti Institute which employs a traditional Mauritanian style of teaching the Sacred Sciences. Hijab is currently doing further postgraduate research in Applied Theology at SOAS in addition to being active on social media, posting regular videos on his YouTube channel.
Career
In 2018, Mohammed Hijab attended a freedom of speech rally with Ali Dawah. Gavin McInnes, co-founder of Vice Media told Hijab that the Qur’an is “disproportionately violent” shortly before admitting he hadn't read it. He has taught and instructed humanities and social science courses in a variety of settings including 'Salam Initiative' where he currently works and acts as an 'Academic Researcher'. He has debated many other famous polemics including Adam Deen (of the Quilliam Foundation), Jagraj Singh (A prominent Sikh figure), Gavin Mcinness and Jay Smith in a controversial debate which ended in both men being taken down from the soapboxes by the police.
Controversy
Hijab has recently been involved in many skirmishes with political opponents the like of the Ultra-Right in speakers corner.
