Mohammad Shaikh

Mohammad Shaikh (born October 6, 1952) is a Muslim Scholar of Qur’an and Comparative Religion and the founder and chair person of the International Islamic Propagation Center / IIPC.
Initially Shaikh was the main distributor of Ahmed Deedat’s videos in Pakistan and was inspired by his lectures on comparative religion. In 1988 Shaikh was selected by Deedat to undergo training on Daw’ah and comparative religion at the IPCI in Durban, South Africa.
In 1985, he founded the International Islamic Propagation Center or IIPC at Karachi, through which he has delivered lectures of many Quranic topics.
His work has faced opposition from some conservative Muslims because of his novel views on Quranic topics. He has also survived two assassination attempts, in 1986 and 2005.
In 2010, he was listed among The 500 Most Influential Muslims in the book of that title published by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre , Aman Jordan. He was also ranked 4th most influential Muslim in the world on a public poll by Reuters in 2009
