Mode magazine

This is an article about the fictional magazine which is the setting for the ABC television show Ugly Betty not the real magazine which has now stopped printing.

Mode magazine

Mode magazine is the fictional flagship magazine of Meade publications which was created by Bradford Meade the publishing tycoon. It is an ultra chic high class fashion magazine located in the meade building (fictional) which in real life is called the Woolworth Building.
The magazines editors in cheif are Bradford meades children Daniel Meade and Alexis Meade. This is much to the disliking of former mode Creative director Wilhelmina Slater whos ultimate goal in life is to have control over mode or if she could control over meade publications ,she has tried at this several times and has got very close but has allways failed.
The models that appear in the magazine are "far to skinny and look very unhealthy" according to Betty and she showed Daniel with a presentation that if they kept using skinnier and skinnier models in each issue they would eventually be modeling the cloths on skeletons.

Working at mode
The women and men who work at mode are extremely image concious ,they wear designer labels are very skinny and have a large knowledge of fashion with the exeption of betty, who when put together with the rest of them sticks out like a sour thumb. she turned up to mode on her first day wearing a large rec and green poncho that her dad got her from Guadelajara
