Mocha Joe is a fictional barista portrayed by American actor Saverio Guerra in the HBO sitcom Curb Your Enthusiasm. The character first appeared in the notable tenth episode of the seventh season of the American situation comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm episode entitled . It originally aired on November 22, 2009. There has been much debate online in blogs and in opinions in articles as to the origins of Mocha Joe. Mocha Joe is a parody of famed celebrity barista Jeremy Gursey and his company Mocha Kiss Coffee who worked on Seinfeld for three years seasons 7-9 from 1996-1998; both are brown haired, wore aprons and served coffee behind the scenes of the show Seinfeld with companies with similar names and penchants for interacting with Larry David. Larry affectionately nicknamed Jeremy "Mocha Joe" when he would show up on set and to the writer's offices and take coffee orders. Jeremy Gursey is an occasional correspondent and on-air talent for Access Hollywood, and appears regularly on the red carpet for award shows making coffee and interviewing celebrities. At the 2006 Golden Globes on January 8th, 2006 he appeared as "Borat", complete with moustache, leisure suit, American Flag and a picture of Pamela Anderson causing havok and harassing celebrities.
