Missy Crutchfield is Founding Administrator of the City of Chattanooga's Department of (EAC). Named to Mayor Ron Littlefield's Cabinet on July 1, 2005, Crutchfield was commissioned to create the brand new city department. Five years later, Education, Arts & Culture operates six civic facilities, over 12 arts and education initiatives, and has received national recognition. Work She has studied and performed in Los Angeles and New York, as well as performing onstage in local productions in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Remember Your Dream Inspired by Crutchfield's personal vision to use the arts to address social issues, Remember Your Dream (Remember your Dream by Katy Mena, In the City, Summer 2006) is EAC's signature initiative—including mentoring and arts programs, issue-driven literacy programs, purpose-driven social networking events, and gender-specific programs for boys and girls emphasizing healthy relationships and peer-to-peer programs. Connecting the Dots EAC is known for Connecting the Dots, co-hosting the annual Connecting the Dots Summit is co-sponsored by EAC, Allied Arts of Greater Chattanooga, and United Way of Greater Chattanooga, and has included keynote speakers Rick Lowe (Project Row Houses) and Claudia Cornett, Ph.D (author of "Creating Meaning Through Literature and the Arts"). EAC has also received national recognition for the "Connecting the Dots with Technology initiative." Inspired by the mobile technology initiative launched in New Orleans following soon after Katrina’s devastation of communications, Crutchfield reached out to local corporations and community organizations to partner and donate used computers to the city’s recreation centers. Students enrolled in the resulting Virtual School program afterschool and during summers have been able to graduate on time or be promoted to the next grade level. Sisters Speak Out Crutchfield is the founder and author of Sisters Speak Out (Vignette of Voices by Virginia Cowie, In the City, March 2007)—a community outreach program and three-act play addressing issues surrounding domestic violence, and means of prevention. Sisters Speak Out is a workshop experience, documentary, and three-act play founded and authored by Missy Crutchfield due to her unwavering passion for the need for addressing issues surrounding domestic violence, and means of prevention. Speak Out with Missy Crutchfield Crutchfield hosts a talk and public affairs radio show which airs locally in Chattanooga, Tennessee and is podcasted online.
