Mind Flare Media

Mind Flare Media is an independent record label based in Charlottesville, Virginia.
History
The label originally started in Richmond, Virginia as an extreme metal label, but after it's brief existence, it changed hands and was moved to Charlottesville, Virginia 2009. The first two releases on the label were "Mammalia" by an experimental drum and bass band called and "Decay and Demoralization" by a Polish noise band named MAAAA in early 2010.
From its beginning, Mind Flare Media has stated its goal has been to release high-quality, original artists in a variety of genres. Currently, their catalog is set to include two additional noise/experimental artists in 2010, followed by an experimental compilation featuring Dead Voices on Air, baseck, and several other well-known acts in the genres. Unlike other underground labels, Mind Flare hit the ground running and began its first two releases in real CD form, attempting to totally avoid CD-Rs, cassettes, and LPs unless significant reasons warranted the creation of them. Their CDs, as they state, come fully packaged and retail-ready.
Though relatively new, the label's first band, , has recently begun making waves in the underground music scene, drawing attention to the label. Mind Flare Media is currently, according to information on their news blog, working distribution angles and advertisement in anticipation of making a wide leap into the music industry in 2011.
Musical style
The label specializes in various types of music. According to their submission guidelines, they're actively seeking music from any genre, provided they find it unique enough to make a mark in the industry. Currently, their catalog includes one experimental drum and bass act, one noise act, with three additional CDs in the works for 2010, including a new full-length CD from China's well-known Torturing Nurse and Kristus Kut, an electronic musician from the Netherlands. Though currently small due to its short existence, Mind Flare Media is planning on releasing nearly everything including black metal, horror rap, and techno pop.
