Mina Mauldin

Mina Mauldin is an American singer, songwriter, indie-pop artist and producer.
Background
Born and raised in Texas, Mina Mauldin (pronounced "MEE-na") began writing songs at age 10. Daughter of a dance teacher, Mina grew up singing and dancing; performing in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City and in the Nutcracker with the local civic ballet. Over the years, she studied vocal instruction under the direction of notable coaches: Dr. William Riley, Linda Septien Group, Nancy Badger, and Bryan Schexnayder. Mina currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
Professional career
Mina began recording her own music in 2004 in Austin, Texas. Her debut album, Super Psychotic Queen, was independently produced, distributed and released in April 2004. The Austin Chronicle called the album "an array of impressive originals" and "an instant standout" (Spring 2004) and Indie Music rated the release "Five Stars" (Summer 2004). Subsequently, she relocated to Los Angeles, releasing a string of work The Backstroke & The Butterfly, Talk To Strangers (Single) and Whiplash-Austin Style (Single). Music Connection Magazine reviewed the releases, saying "'Whiplash' and 'Seasick Sailor' are originals that tickle the imagination." She has played the SXSW festival as well as worked with several Grammy award-winning producers and sound engineers. In 2011, Mina released her White Dandelion EP with lead track "Chasing Answers" which was featured on nationally televised Lifetime TV's reality show Dance Moms in August 2012.
