Mike Edelman is a nationally known Blacksmith, Metalsmith and Sculptor. He was born in 1982 in Rockville Maryland. In 1999, he, along with many others helped create M.A.I.L (www.mailleartisans.org/), a group dedicated to the growth of chainmaille art. Edelman, along with Kim Chatfield helped pioneer many advances in the area of free standing chain sculptures. In 2005 Edelman graduated from Frostburg State University with a BFA, and ventured out on his own as an artist. That year he also had work purchased by the Kamm family for their world famous tea pot collection. In 2006 Edelman was asked to become a resident artist at Spruce Forest Artisan Village (www.spruceforest.org). There he kept a gallery, offered open studio times for the public to come watch, as well as taught lessons. In 2009 Edelman is still a resident artist at Spruce Forest, and continues to hold open his personal gallery. He is currently scheduled for numerous exhibits which include his sculptures and jewelry. Currently, he is best known for his contemporary forms and the fluidity that he is able to put into the medium. Webpage: www.medelmanart.com Education: B.F.A.
