Mighty Psyducks

The Mighty Psyducks Hockey Club (more commonly known as Mighty Psyducks, or simply The Ducks) is a American street hockey club based on Grand Island, NY. They play in the Grand Island Street Hockey League, and are currently the defending champions, following their undefeated 2007 league campaign. Their home games are contested at Havenwood.

History
The Psyducks were founded as one of the founding clubs in the newly formed GISHL. In the Spring of 2007, shortly following the announcement that a street hockey league had been formed, Kyle Keifmann expressed his intent to start his own street hockey club, and later announced officially that he would be the president and head coach of the "Mighty Psyducks". Keifmann went on to snatch up many of the region's most sought after players, including goaltender Mike Paasch, stalwart defenseman Ben Tomkins, and enforcer Nick Kellner. Co-Founder Robert Dickinson also signed superstar forward Patrick Thompson from Donald MacIntyre's Swedish Fighting Mongooses, the only other team in existence at that time. Keifmann also made a controversial move to sign defenseman Al Endres to a deal including an epic signing bonus. Endres had originally agreed to sign with the Swedish Fighting Mongooses, but upon learning of the Psyduck's lucrative contract offer, chose to sign with Keifman's club. Endres, usually a netminder, made the shocking decision to be a defensemen for the 'ducks. Following their early success, the Psyducks signed a small sponsorship deal with 84 Lumber. This allowed for the paying of wages to Psyducks players, but has put their re-entrance into the GISHL in jeopardy.

Club Culture
The Psyducks have a large following on Grand Island and were the first street hockey club in the GISHL to start an organized hooligan firm. The firm is known as Bombay's Army, a reference to the coach of the fictional hockey team, the Mighty Ducks from the Disney movie of the same name. The firm support the Ducks during games and often stir up trouble around Havenwood following games. This contributes to Havenwood's reputation as one of the most intimidating venues in street hockey. A common chant among supporters is the "Mighty Psyducks" chant, in which the club's name is repeated to the tune of the jingle of the food chain, Mighty Taco. The club colors are gold and white which can be found in the club's crest. The crest was created by Kyle Keifmann. It represents the Mighty Psyducks' two namesakes, combining the Pokemon, Psyduck with the famous "duckmask' from the Mighty Ducks logo.
